The USU Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking a motivated and team-oriented full stack web developer to develop database‐backed web applications, public facing websites, and interface with 3rd-party applications. In this role, you will work closely with a team of designers and developers to build functional and engaging websites, while ensuring the alignment of web design and user experience requirements.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Write clean, consistent and well‐documented code
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain web applications using a variety of web technologies and libraries
  • Create quality UI mockups, storyboards, and prototypes
  • Design relational data models
  • Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers
  • Provide operational support for existing systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Gather and evaluate user requirements and feedback with customers, product managers, and team
Qualifications
  • BS in software engineering, information technology, computer science, or related field
  • MinimumΒ 5Β years of full-time, professional web application development experience
  • Outstanding skills in two or more of the following:
    • Front-end web development
    • Application design and development
    • Back-end development
    • Relational databases
    • Software quality assurance
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self‐motivated and customer-service oriented
  • Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in software engineering, information technology, computer science, or related field
  • Understanding of UX/UI design principles
  • Experience with responsive web design
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks including modern front-end libraries (e.g. Vue)
  • Knowledge of SEO principles
