FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Backend Developer will be supporting our 1st Phorm mobile app. They will be responsible for building and maintaining the systems that process data and perform actions for this application, this includes data storage, security, and application architecture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and maintain the logic and databases that drive the 1st Phorm mobile app
- Integrate user-facing elements created by front-end developers
- Design and implement data storage solutions
- Ensure the quality, responsiveness, and performance of the application
- Identify bugs and bottlenecks and come up with solutions
- Work with other team members and stakeholders, including front-end developers, designers, and quality engineers
- Contribute to improving the development process, including normalizing the agile development process
- Manage APIs in industry standard ways to ensure that what is coming in is secured
- Ensure the efficiency and speed of back-end servers
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Strong experience in PHP, particularly in building and maintaining scalable backend systems
- Proficiency in the Laravel framework is important for building APIs, web services, and backend functionality
- Extensive experience working with MySQL databases, including writing complex queries, optimizing databases, and designing schemas
- Strong problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues and improving performance
- Dev Ops Experience, including:
- Deploying, scaling, and maintaining applications
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience building and maintaining JASON and RESTful APIs
- Proficient with Git for version control
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years software development experience
