Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Web Developer to join our team supporting USAID. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing our existing AWS-based website, building, and optimizing robust cloud infrastructure and web components, and providing cyber security knowledge. They will ensure that information, resources, and data are accessible to support USAID’s mission to create sustainable, resilient communities. Work Schedule and Location:

Remote: This full-time remote position will work Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PMΒ 

Responsibilities

  • Website Management: Lead the management and development of the two cloud-based websites, ensuring data integrity, minimal downtime, and a seamless user experience.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Development: Design, build, and maintain a scalable and secure web infrastructure that meets ATO requirements. Optimize site performance, ensuring a seamless experience across devices. Implement best practices for website security, performance, and scalability.
  • Web Development & Maintenance: Develop features and fix bugs to maintain website functionality using modern coding best practices. Ensure the site remains responsive, secure, and up to date with the latest technologies and security standards.
  • Development Operations: Design and maintain modern DevOps practices to ensure quality deployments of application code to cloud based infrastructure utilizing IaC tools such as Terraform.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, content, and marketing to ensure that the website aligns with overall project goals and user experience standards. Provide recommendations for enhancements and new features based on user feedback, analytics, and compliance requirements.
  • ATO (Authority to Operate) compliance development: Design and develop ATO compliant security measures and documentation to assist ATO accreditation on two cloud-based web applications.

Qualifications

  • The ability to obtain a Public Trust
  • 5+ years of experience in Full Stack Web Development, with a focus on cloud infrastructure in AWS and Platform.sh
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT systems, or other applicable degrees
  • Experience with AWS and Platform.sh
  • Experience in DevOps / DevSecOps
  • Experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Drupal CMS
  • Experience with Relational Databases systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Understanding of API integration and RESTful web services.
  • Proficiency in coding languages including but not limited to:
  • JavaScript & NodeJS
  • PHP (for backend development, especially if working with CMS platforms like Drupal)
  • HTML & CSS (including preprocessors like SASS)
  • Bash
  • SQL
  • Python
  • Knowledge of cloud services and hosting platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on ATO-compliant solutions
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles, 508 compliance, and security best practices
  • Proven experience in website security and data privacy regulations, with an understanding of ATO processes and requirements
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Pay Range (Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other relevant factors)
