The Sagetap platform combines access to these practitioners with a suite of SaaS tools to help software vendors collect, analyze, and take action on non-customer sentiment in a meaningful way.

Job Description

Sagetap is looking for an experienced, curious, and collaborative backend developer to join our fully remote engineering team. As a senior member of an engineering- and innovation-first company, you will be empowered to discuss, design, and implement solutions throughout our platform from ideation all the way to production.

You should be interested in utilizing and advocating for good coding practices, writing code that is testable, observable, and maintainable. Ideally you have thoughts about how systems and code ought to be architected, what tools are best for the job, and how to best collaborate with others to achieve a common goal.

You will have the opportunity to work with many interesting technologies such as Kotlin, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, AWS, and Terraform to build an innovative and evolving product with a team of open and friendly engineers. You will also be given the opportunity to transform this into a full-stack role if you have experience or interest in the front end.

Qualifications

What You Will Do

  • Write code in Kotlin (and perhaps other languages down the line) to develop our back end systems
  • Communicate clearly with our business and product partners to better understand their requirements, and then help plan, scope, and execute upon them
  • Be an advocate for best practices around testing, design, observability, etc. to maintain the long-term quality and stability of the platform
  • Collaborate with, learn from, and teach others on the team about languages, tooling, techniques, etc.

Β

What we are looking for:

  • 4+ years of software engineering or relevant experience
  • Proficiency in programming with Kotlin or similar languages (e.g. Java, C#)
  • Experience with databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and confidence with core SQL Experience with git or other version control systems
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services preferred)
  • Application architecture and design patterns, experience in building RESTful APIs
  • An empathetic mindset (for our users and the rest of our team), the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively, and a willingness and desire to learn
  • Experience in an online marketplace is strongly preferred

Additional Information

This is a full-time, permanent position reporting to the Head of Engineering. This role is a remote position, and can be based in any location. • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Generous vacation and holiday policy.
  • Remote office equipment budget.
