As a Technical Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology - Corporate Oversight & Governance team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.


Job responsibilities



  • Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities

  • Develops secure high-quality production code while leading and mentoring team members

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting

  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and foster continuous improvement 

  • Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration

  • Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements

  • Manages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements

  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills



  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience

  • Proven experience as a technical manager in a software engineering environment

  • Expertise in working at code level in Java, Spring Boot, JPA, SQL, REST, Angular/React

  • Proficient in working with microservices and distributed transaction management

  • Experience with building cloud-native applications (AWS, Azure, Pivotal, or other cloud platforms)

  • Proficient in automation and continuous delivery methods

  • Experience leading technology projects

  • Expertise in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
